I put the truck in tow haul mode when I have the trailer 60-70% of the time when I'm showing up to a stop sign or light it BANG! downshifts really hard not metal on metal but really hard. Sometimes the newer transmission fluid helped the hard shift, but you've already got that from the factory. It does take a while to break these things in and smooth out, which also helps mpg.
