Instead of having every packet stop at each port until it finds an open port, a router can be programmed to expedite the process by identifying and redirecting packets. WebEssentially CGNAT means your IP address is shared between many users and in EE's setup conventional port forwarding won't work because the original device is hidden behind the NAT. In theory IPv6 should solve this but that’s no help for you today. I did however read somewhere that somebody had got around this by using two EE connections.
