The servo has pressure on it to keep it in the un-applied position in all but manual 2nd gear. I retain the band on my manual/automatic valve body builds. No other holes are blocked in the VB except the 2-3 accum feed.

Hi all, I have a TH400 that I rebuilt at the beginning of the year and in addition, did all of the mods within the attached (except for the "dual feed"). It seems to operate normally in drive, however, the 1-2 shift is much softer that I thought it would be. Actually seems softer than a basic shift kit. Web8 Jul 2024 · 99 My car has a th400 that has a manual valve body. Recently I read that you aren't supposed to start in 3rd gear because it can burn out a drum or clutch. Also been reading you can never come to a stop in second gear because it burn the 3/2 clutches since it's basically engine braking. Is there any truth the above?
